MODULE 8 - EXCEL ADVANCED CHARTING

SYNOPSIS:
This course introduces the skills necessary to create advanced charts. It includes tasks on modifying and formatting charts, working with chart data series and advanced graphics, and using the Data Map. Students will also learn how to modify maps.

PREREQUISITES:
Excel users who want to create advanced charts.

THIS MODULE INCLUDES:

Modifying Charts
Creating, applying, and deleting user-defined charts; changing the data source; editing text/axis titles; adding unlinked text; removing/adding axes labels; using and disabling the time-scale axis; using the chart Range Finder; moving a legend; adding data labels and tables.

Working with Chart Data Series
Adding and deleting a data series, adding data series/multiple worksheets, editing data series names, changing data series types, adding a trend line, charting non-adjacent ranges.

Formatting Charts
Changing patterns, colours, the plotting order, and the axis scaling; creating borders and picture graphs; formatting axes and data markers; adjusting 3-D chart views; scaling a picture graph.

Working with Advanced Graphics
Inserting a graphics image; drawing a filled rectangle; changing the graph layering, fill colour, and pattern colour; adding a pattern; grouping and ungrouping objects.

Working with the Data Map
Using the Data Map; organize the map worksheet; creating a basic map; changing the map format type; inserting data into a map; editing a map title and legend.

Modifying Maps
Creating a pie map; deleting chart formats; removing and adding map features; adding text to a map; magnifying, moving, and reducing the map; changing pie chart colours; using push-pins and map labels; refreshing the map; printing the Data Map.
