SYNOPSIS:
Presents basic Windows XP concepts for novice PC users and provides
a solid foundation on which to build more advanced Windows skills. Includes
an introductory lesson on computers as well as using and understanding
the Desktop and Taskbar.

THIS MODULE INCLUDES:
Working with Computers
Basic topics such as computers, hardware, memory, the monitor, the keyboard,
the mouse, printers, disk drives, and software.
Using Startup and Shutdown
Starting Windows 95; closing the Welcome dialog box; shutting down
- start menu; restarting the computer and the start menu; shutting down
- keyboard.
Reviewing the Desktop
Working with the desktop, taskbar, My Computer, and Recycle Bin; using
network neighborhood.
Manipulating Windows and Programs
Working with windows, minimizing/restoring and maximizing/restoring a
window; moving, sizing, scrolling, and closing a window, switching windows
- taskbar and keyboard; cascading and tiling windows; minimizing multiple
windows.
Using Menus and Dialog Boxes
Using menus and the Start menu; closing a "locked program"; using dialog
boxes and shortcut menus; opening programs - shortcut menu; moving and
copying using shortcut menus; drag and drop to copy and move; using property
sheets.
Working with Diskettes
Formatting a diskette; setting a disk's label; copying diskettes.
