SYNOPSIS:
This course provides an introduction to Word for Windows. The student
will explore Word 2003, use the Office Assistant, learn basic document skills,
check spelling and grammar, and work with document views. The student
will also learn how to print and preview documents, envelopes, and labels.
PREREQUISITES:
Users who are familiar with Windows 200/XP and want to learn the basics of
Word 2003.

THIS MODULE INCLUDES:
Exploring Word
Starting and exiting Word, working with windows, using menu commands with
the mouse and keyboard, displaying/hiding toolbars.
Using the Office Assistant
Using and hiding the Office Assistant, finding an answer, selecting
an Assistant, changing Assistant options.
Using Basic Document Skills
Opening and closing a document, scrolling using the mouse, moving using
the keyboard, selecting text, creating and saving a new document, entering
text in a document, using insert and overtype mode, renaming an existing
document.
Checking Spelling and Grammar
Checking spelling and grammar as you type; adding to the custom dictionary;
disabling spelling options; starting and ending the spelling checker;
using the spelling Change and Ignore options, the Undo button, and the
grammar Change option; correcting an identified word; starting the grammar
checker; displaying a grammatical rule.
Using Basic Text Editing
Removing characters, deleting and replacing selected text, moving text
using Cut and Paste, copying text using Copy and Paste, moving and copying
text with the mouse, reversing/redoing commands.
Working with Document Views
Switching views with the View buttons and the View menu, changing document
magnification, displaying/hiding the ruler, viewing non-printing characters,
switching between documents; accessing full-screen mode.
Printing
Previewing and printing a document; printing the current page, multiple
copies, and envelopes and labels.
